Is school factor important to measure teacher effectiveness? Multi-level technology of predicting students' income by value-added method

Abstract: This paper uses three-level hierarchical linear model (HLM) and value-added model (VAM) to study the influence of teachers quality represented by teachers level characteristics on mathematics gain score. The analysis investigated the important predictors of students, teachers and schools & apos; Scores were obtained at the teacher and school levels and the size of the D-type effect was estimated. We found the significant influence of teachers & apos; Mathematical content certification, teacher experience, and the interaction between mathematical content certification and predictors of student level. Although school poverty significantly predicts students & apos; After obtaining scores, the impact at the school level is relatively small.
