Abstract: This study involves qualitative aspects of group interviews as a tool in selecting students for teacher education programs. It shows the internal research results on the dynamics of group interviews, focusing on the participants & apos; Experience and the meaning it gives them. The purpose of this study is to better understand group interview as an effective tool for selecting teacher education candidates. Participants were 10 groups of 107 candidates. Data were collected from observations, interviews and questionnaires to examine the variables that affect the performance of candidates in interviews. The survey results highlight the complexity of group interview as a filtering tool, the most important of which is the cultural and social aspects that affect the assessor; andparticipants' performance. Notwithstanding the complexities, the findings demonstrate the utility of the group interview in filtering out unsuitable candidates and, possibly, in marketing the institution.
