Abstract: This study mainly discusses the impact of teachers attitude towards science and technology teaching on students attitude towards science and technology. A one-year longitudinal study involving 91 teachers and 1822 students in the upper grades of primary schools in the Netherlands shows that students attitudes towards science and technology are not so positive during primary school, and girls attitudes are not as positive as boys. The attitude of female teachers towards science and technology teaching is not as positive as that of male teachers. Girls seem to be very sensitive to teachers attitude, especially when female teachers enthusiasm for science and technology teaching decreases, their attitude is not so positive. Enlightenment to teacher education and teaher recruitment are discussed.
