Abstract: From the point of view of improving biological activity, many surface modification technologies of titanium and its alloys have been proposed. This paper summarizes the surface treatment methods, including hydroxyapatite coating (HAP), a bone conductive compound. There are two coating methods: heat treatment and hydrotreating. The hydrotreating of coatings on titanium substrate with hydroxyapatite, carbonate apatite (CO3 – AP), CO3 – AP CaCO3 composites, hydroxyapatite collagen and hydroxyapatite Gelatin Composites is summarized in this paper. In addition, it was evaluated by implanting surface modified samples in rat tibia.
