Immobilization of laccase in alginate gelatin mixed gel and decolorization of synthetic dyes

Abstract: The alginate gelatin mixed gel was used to decolorize synthetic dyes such as crystal violet by immobilized laccase. The immobilization process was completed by adding sodium alginate to the gelatin solution containing enzyme, and then adding the mixture drop by drop to the stirred CaCl2 solution. The data obtained showed that the immobilized enzyme and free enzyme had the best removal effect of crystal violet at 50 ° C, but the embedded enzyme showed higher thermal stability than free enzyme. The immobilized enzyme showed the best decolorization effect at pH 8. The reusability of intercepted laccase was studied. The results showed that the activity of laccase remained about 85 after five consecutive cycles. Sev was decolorized and the optimum decolorization conditions were determinedn other synthetic dyes. Results showed that the maximum and minimum dye removal was related to amido black 10B and eosin, respectively.
