Multispectral study on the binding of a new water-soluble iron Schiff base complex with DNA

Abstract: A new iron (Ⅲ) complex [Fe (SF)] (ClO4) 3.2h2o; Where SF   =   n, N0 bis {5 - [(triphenylphosphine chloride) - methyl] salicylaldehyde}-o-phenylenediamine) was synthesized and characterized by different physicochemical methods. The binding of the complex to calf thymus (CT) DNA was studied by circular dichroism, absorption, emission spectroscopy, voltammetry and viscosity measurement. The results showed that the complex could bind to DNA by external binding and groove binding.
