Preparation, characterization and antibacterial activity of sarcosine with Zn (II) and Sn (IV) bimetallic complexes

Abstract: Under room temperature stirring conditions, sarcosine and zinc acetate were used as raw materials at a molar ratio of 2  :   1, and then CS2 and organotin (IV) halide were gradually added. The complex was characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and NMR (1H, 13C). The infrared spectrum data showed that the ligand acted in a bidentate manner. NMR data reveal the four coordinate geometry in solution. In vitro antibacterial activity data showed that complexes (3) and (4) were effective against bacterial and fungal strains with only a few exceptions.
