Abstract: A series of new Cu (II), CO (II) and Ni (II) Schiff base complexes were prepared by condensation and metallization of 1-phenylindoline-2,3-dione with isonicotinic hydrazide. Schiff base ligand (L), (E) - n ′ - (2-oxo-1-phenylindole-3-lactone) isonicotinic hydrazide and its complexes are soluble in DMF and DMSO solvents and characterized by modern analytical and spectral techniques such as elemental analysis, conductivity, magnetic moment, IR, NMR, UV-vis spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, CV and EPR. The elemental analysis data of ligands and their complexes are consistent with the calculated values, in which the stoichiometric ratio of metal to ligand is 1:
