Synthesis and antiproliferative activity of steroid thiosemicarbazone platinum (Pt (II)) complexes

Abstract: Steroids have special physiological activities. Steroidal thiosemicarbazone platinum (ⅱ) complexes were synthesized from estrone, chenodeoxycholic acid and 7-deoxycholic acid by condensation of sterone with thiosemicarbazone and complexation with platinum (ⅱ). The complexes were characterized by IR, NMR and MS, and their antiproliferative activities were evaluated. The results showed that some steroidal thiosemicarbazone platinum (Pt (II)) complexes had moderate cytotoxicity to HeLa and BEL-7404 cells. Among them, complex 6 showed good inhibition selectivity to HeLa cells, and the IC50 value was 9.2   μ The values of M and Si are 21.7. Meanwhile, almost all compounds are INACive to HEK293T (normal kidney epithelial cells). The information obtained from the studies may be useful for the design of novel chemotherapeutic drugs.
