Reversible oxidation of cobalt (ⅱ) complex with 2,4-diaminobutyrate

Abstract: This paper introduces the structural characterization of a new oxygen carrier CO (II) - 2,4-diaminobutyric acid (Daba) complex and its reversible oxidation behavior in aqueous solution. The composition of oxygen-containing complex was determined by gas volumetric method, molar ratio method and mass spectrometry, and the formula of oxygen-containing complex was determined as [CO (Daba) 2O2]. In aqueous solution, the complexes can continuously absorb and release oxygen, and show good oxygen reversibility and deoxidation ability. After 30 cycles within 24 hours, the complex can maintain 50 of its original oxidation capacity   h, and retain 5 of its original oxygenation capacity   h after more than 260 cycles after 72 hours. When the ligand analog is connected to histidine (his), the new complex is formedex exhibited as excellent reversible oxygenation property as His-Co(II) complex. Insight into the relationship between structural detail and oxygenation properties will provide valuable suggestion for a new family of oxygen carriers.
