Abstract: 4-hydroxy-3-nitro-2h-chromium-2-one complex and its mixed complexes with aminoglycolic acid and pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid were synthesized by reaction with the molar ratio of copper (Ⅱ) and zinc (Ⅱ) salt as 1. Coumarin complex is 2 and coumarin complex is 1. Coumarin complex is 1. In alkaline medium. The compounds were characterized by IR, UV-vis spectrophotometry, mass spectrometry, magnetic susceptibility measurement and EDX analysis. The results showed that 4-hydroxy-3-nitro-2h-chromium-2-one was used as a single ligand to coordinate with all complexes; In the case of copper (II) mixed ligand complexes, it is also coordinated through the carbonyl moiety. Similarly, it has been proposed that amino acids are coordinated in a bidentate manner through their amino acidsitrogen and carboxylate oxygen atoms. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities. The complexes exhibited marginal antimicrobial activity but good cytotoxic activity.
