Abstract: With more and more evidence that the use of metal containing compounds as anticancer therapy may have advantages, many cancer treatment methods have been explored. Previous studies on Ru (III) complexes have shown that CO (III) complexes with similar structures may provide a good alternative, low-cost and effective prodrug. Here, a new complex trans - [CO (imidazole) 4cl2] Cl (2) was synthesized in high yield by ligand exchange under reflux conditions. The structure of 2 was characterized by elemental analysis, 1H and 13C · NMR, ESI-MS, CV and UV Vis. The reduction ability of 2 in the presence of ascorbic acid was discussed, and it was proved that the metal center of CO (III) may be reduced to CO (II). In addition, the preliminary cell line test of No. 2 showed a lack off cytotoxicity.
