Abstract: The purpose of this study was to study the resistance and removal ability of Aspergillus niger to heavy metals. We analyzed the resistance of the strain to some heavy metals by dry weight and plate method: the strain grew in 2000   ppm of zinc, lead and mercury, 1200 and 1000   ppm of arsenic (III) and (VI), 800   ppm of fluorine and cobalt, and the lowest ppm of cadmium (400   ppm). In terms of its potential to remove heavy metals, the removal rates of zinc (100 ), mercury (83.2 ), fluorine (83 ), cobalt (71.4 ), silver (48 ) and copper (37 ) are higher.
