Abstract: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common chronic liver disease, which can lead to end-stage liver disease requiring liver transplantation. Many pharmacological methods are used to reduce the disease progression of NAFLD. However, the current strategy still can not completely reverse the progress of NAFLD. The use of nanoparticles as a drug delivery system has proved to have great potential in improving the bioavailability of NAFLD therapeutic drugs. In this regard, various types of nanoparticles are used in the treatment of NAFLD. In this review, we introduce the current methods for the treatment of NAFLD and review the latest progress of nanoparticles in the treatment of NAFLD.
