Analysis of thermal conductivity of composites (cpc-30r / bagasse charcoal) by thermal insulation plate technology

Abstract: Using bagasse charcoal (CSB) and other solid residues to produce new thermal insulation composites is of great significance because it uses materials that may pollute the environment. Therefore, in this study, we obtained composites based on Portland cement (cpc-30r) matrix and CSB particles, in which a 4  :   1 water cement ratio and CSB concentration are 5 , 10 and 15 (by weight). The thermal conductivity of these materials was characterized according to ASTM guide c177, their CSB morphological characteristics were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and their composition was determined by energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS). The results show that the thermal conductivity of the composites decreases. Th metallic oxide percentage composition of the CSB was also determined. It was observed that there was a reduction in thermal conductivity when CSB was used as compared to 100 CPC-30R, and the influence of the CSB concentration on thermal conductivity was measured.
