Abstract: This study focuses on the effect of rare earth metals (mainly lanthanum and cerium) on the characteristics of eutectic silicon in Al Si based alloys. According to the solidification curve and microstructure inspection of the corresponding alloy, it is found that the addition of La or CE will increase the melting temperature and Al Si eutectic temperature of the alloy, and the re glow of Al Si is 2-3 ° C α- The Al peak is attributed to the precipitation of rare earth intermetallic compounds. Adding La or CE to Al - (7 – 13) Si will only lead to partial modification of eutectic Si particles. The reaction affinity between lanthanum and strontium is high, which reduces the modification efficiency of strontium. However, cerium has high affinity for titanium and forms a large amount of sludge. becauserge difference in the length of the eutectic Si particles in the same sample, the normal use of standard deviation in this case is meaningless.
