Abstract: Two nondestructive testing methods, terahertz time domain imaging and infrared thermal imaging, were used to detect thin basalt fiber reinforced composites. In order to combine the information about the defects in the inspected material, the inspection results are parameterized. In order to obtain more information content, a new feature based on approximation is proposed. Then, the preselected feature vectors are analyzed by multivariate analysis based on knowledge extraction. Finally, in order to integrate the feature distributions representing different dynamic information levels, a data fusion algorithm based on multi-resolution wavelet is adopted. The results are given and discussed.
