Preparation and properties of waste rubber powder and waste polyethylene modified asphalt mixture

Abstract: Three kinds of modified asphalt were prepared by adding waste rubber powder (WCR), waste polyethylene (WPE) and WCR WPE to base asphalt respectively. The effects of penetration at 25 ℃, softening point, ductility at 5 ℃, viscosity at 135 ℃ and 165 ℃ on the properties of modified asphalt were studied, and the modification mechanism of modified asphalt was discussed by fluorescence microscope. As a waterproof material, the waterproof performance of WCR WPE composite modified asphalt was tested. The results show that WPE modified asphalt has excellent high temperature resistance and WCR modified asphalt has good low temperature resistance. The deformation resistance of WPE modified asphalt is better than that of WCR modified asphalt. The temperature is 135 ℃iscosity of compound modified asphalt is better than that of WPE and WCR modified asphalt. In addition, the waterproofness of compound modified asphalt using waterproofing materials is better than that of common waterproofing materials.
