Ordered mesoporous carbon as a new and efficient adsorbent for dyes in aqueous solution

Abstract: Ordered mesoporous carbon was successfully synthesized by hard template method and soft template method. These materials were characterized by XRD, TEM and N2 adsorption desorption Brunauer Emmett Teller (BET). It can be seen from the obtained results that the obtained OMCs samples show high specific surface area (> 1000   m2 g) and high pore volume, mainly mesoporous volume (1.2 – 2.4   cm3 g). In addition, OMCs samples have a structure similar to SBA-15 silica and show high MB adsorption capacity. 398   MGG − 1 is used for the synthesis of hard template OMCs and 476   MGG − 1 is used for the synthesis of soft template OMCs, respectively. The kinetic study showed that the adsorption of MB in aqueous solution accorded with the pseudo second-order kinetic equation.
