Abstract: Block compaction has a significant effect on the strength characteristics of compressed soil blocks. This paper studies the effect of compaction rate on the performance of compressed soil block. The density, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and erosion performance of compressed soil blocks produced at different compaction speeds were determined through experiments. The study concluded that although the low-pressure compaction rate obtained slightly better performance characteristics, there was no statistically significant difference between the soil blocks produced by low-pressure compaction rate and high-pressure compaction rate. The results show that low-pressure compactness and high-pressure compactness have little effect on the performance of compressed soil blockss. It was further found that there are strong linear correlations between the compressive strength test and density, and density and the erosion. However, a weak linear correlation was found between tensile strength and compressive strength, and tensile strength and density.
