Fractal simulation of pore structure and ion diffusivity of cement paste

Abstract: The pore structure of cement-based composites is very important to the ion diffusivity. In this paper, the pore structure of cement paste is simulated by using the recently proposed solid mass fractal model. In addition, an enhanced Maxwell homogenization method combined with solid mass fractal model is proposed to determine the relevant ion diffusivity. The effectiveness of the model is verified by experiments, that is, the determination of mercury intrusion porosity and the rapid migration of chloride ions. The results show that the model is in good agreement with the experimental results.
