Simulation experimental study on Influencing Factors of f-CaO hydration activity in alkaline oxygen slag

Abstract: The composition and formation process of f-CaO in converter slag were revealed and simulated to understand its expansion law and the reason for low hydration activity. BSE shows that the composition of f-CaO is diverse, including calcium iron phase and calcium iron manganese phase. The hydration activity order of three component f-CaO is Ca2Fe2O5 and ca3fe1.5mn1.5o8, the hydration activity order of three component f-CaO is Cao < Cao, and the hydration activity order of three component f-CaO is Ca2Fe2O5 and ca3fe1.5mn1.5o8; Only Ca2Fe2O5 and ca3fe1.5mn1.5o8 are not easy to hydrate, and the volume expansion rate of three component f-CaO varies with different components. To sum up, in the converter slag, the hydration activity order is solid solution Cao FeOx and Cao FeOx mnoy in three component f-CaO < three component f-CaO < single component f-CaO; Volume expansion rate of three component f-cao-changd with different compositions, and CaO-FeOx and CaO-FeOx-MnOy were difficult to hydrate. The reason why solid solutions CaO-FeOx and CaO-FeOx-MnOy were hard to hydrate was that their hydration reaction driving force, which is the absolute value of standard molar reaction Gibbs functions, decreased.
