Abstract: The local buckling behavior of bolted steel plates in steel sleeve technology is studied by numerical simulation. The numerical model is first verified by previous experimental results. Then, parametric studies are carried out to study the effects of different constraints on local buckling behavior and the sensitivity of buckling behavior to initial defects. The fitting formula for calculating the field bearing capacity of bolted steel plate structure is compiled, and the recommended size of stiffener is provided for the reinforcement design of steel sleeve.
