Abstract: We introduce the results of electrowetting experiments using droplets formed by aqueous suspension of gold nanoparticles. The planar electrowetting system consists of platinum wire electrode and bottom copper electrode with insulating silicone layer to observe the change of droplet contact angle under applied electric field. The equilibrium contact angle is 0   V, which decreases with the increase of nanoparticle concentration, from 100.4 ° of pure deionized water to 94.7 ° of 0.5 ° μ M nanofluids.
