Abstract: The evaluation of solid waste in the manufacture of soil-based building materials is one of several technically feasible and cost-effective waste management solutions. Bagasse ash is such a solid waste, which is produced in large quantities in India, a major sugar producing country. The purpose of this paper is to review the value of bagasse ash in the production of stabilized and sintered clods. Bagasse ash is a material rich in silica, which can play an effective role in pozzolanic reaction, resulting in better building materials. The reviewed literature shows that it has been used in the manufacture of blocks and tiles in the form of auxiliary additives and primary stabilizers. However, it s the United Statesilization in stabilized blocks has been more common compared to sintered blocks due to higher energy consumption in the latter. To summarize, sugarcane bagasse ash not only has improved performance in most of the cases but also has reduced the cost of the material, leading to the conclusion that its valorisation in manufacture of blocks and tiles is a genuine and highly productive solution for waste management as well as cost economy.
