Study on thermal properties of coconut bamboo leaf Arecaceae plants

Abstract: Coconut is a fast-growing palm tree of areca family, which grows in swamp areas and along rivers. In this study, "coconut bamboo " is the stem of palm, which is composed of fragile bone marrow with a thin shell, which is smooth and difficult to protect the latter. In our region, this material is widely used in the construction of all low-cost traditional houses and furniture, in the production of granary storage of dry products, in the construction of chicken cages and in decoration. Therefore, various efforts have been organized around these materials to combat poverty. As far as we know, there is little information about its thermal properties. Through the experimental determination of the transverse thermal properties of dry shell, dry pulp and whole dry bamboo, it is helpful to find the specific heat and thermal stability of each dry bamboodiffusivity, a thermal conductivity, and finally a thermal effusivity. From the analysis of results, we deduce that the thermal properties of raffia bamboo vinifera L. Arecacea make it a very good thermal insulator.
