Abstract: The effect of the volume fraction of single wall carbon nanotubes on the natural frequency of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) polymer composite conical shell was studied. In order to determine the characteristics of nanoparticle reinforced materials, molecular dynamics and mixing rules were used. Based on the classical thin shell theory and Hamiltonian principle, the motion equation of composite shell is obtained. Then, the approximate analytical solution of natural frequency is given by using Ritz method. The results show that nanotubes have a significant effect on the natural frequency.
