Abstract: Ultrasonic vibration activated in abrasive water jet nozzle is used to improve the mechanical performance of abrasive water jet. The experimental device of ultrasonic vibration assisted abrasive water jet is established; The utility model is composed of an ultrasonic vibration generating device, an abrasive supply device, an abrasive water jet nozzle, a water jet strengthening pump, etc. The effects of process parameters such as amplitude, system working pressure, pressure distance and abrasive diameter on the removal rate of ceramic materials were studied. The experimental results show that ultrasonic vibration can improve the depth and volume removal rate of abrasive water jet. With the increase of vibration amplitude, the depth and volume increaseme of material removal are also increased. The other parameters of the ultrasonic vibration assisted abrasive water jet also have an important role in the improvement of ceramic material erosion efficiency.
