Study on microporous structure of hollow microspheres of cement-based materials by micro CT

Abstract: Hollow beads have recently been used to increase the volume of uniform micropores in hardened cement-based materials. Therefore, the application of micro CT to hollow beads containing binder will help to better understand the micropores formed by hollow beads in hardened materials. Therefore, Portland cement paste, alkali activated fly ash silica fume and alkali activated fly ash were prepared in this study. Their weight replacement rate was 60 of that of hollow beads, and their microporous structure was reconstructed by micro CT. Single micropores were extracted from the pore structure and analyzed using the principal moment ratio (and). Based on the moment ratio, the representative pore shapes in different pore volume ranges are determined. Four factor pore compliance contribution (four factor PCC)odel was then applied to predict the influences of the micropores on the elastic moduli of the micropore matrix composites.
