Characterization of deformation behavior of as cast P91 alloy steel and its application in hot extrusion

Abstract: The constitutive model of as cast P91 alloy steel was studied by unidirectional thermal compression test in a wide range of temperature and strain rate on GLEEBLE-3500 thermal simulator. The hot extrusion process was simulated by coupling the constitutive model with the finite element method. In addition, the industrial hot extrusion test at 500 ℃ was carried out on the actual pipe, and the load displacement data of Mn vertical extruder in the extrusion process were recorded. The numerical simulation results are compared with the industrial test results, which proves that the established constitutive model can be used for the simulation and industrial research of compact hot extrusion process.
