Abstract: In this study, the shear design equation of prestressed hollow slab (PHC) is discussed, and the applicability of strength reduction coefficient is tested based on structural reliability theory. The reliability indexes of the shear strength equation of PHC plate specified in several national design codes and the shear strength equation of PHC plate proposed in previous studies are calculated. In addition, the appropriate strength reduction coefficient of the shear strength equation is calculated to ensure the target reliability index. The results of reliability index analysis of aci318-08 equation show that the shear strength   mm of members with height greater than 315 is evaluated as excessive safety, while some members with lower depth do not meet the target reliability index.
