Effect of shrinkage reducing agent and expansion agent on volume deformation of ultra-high performance concrete

Abstract: The effects of shrinkage reducing agent and expansion agent on the self shrinkage and dry shrinkage of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) mixed with defoamer were studied. The dosage of shrinkage reducing agent is 0.5 , 1 and 2 respectively, and the dosage of expansion agent is 2 - 4 of the mass of cementitious material. The results show that the gas content of UHPC increases with the increase of the content of shrinkage reducing agent and expansion agent. However, the fluidity, compressive strength and shrinkage of UHPC showed a downward trend. When the dosage of expansion agent was 4 , the shrinkage of UHPC could be significantly reduced. The autogenous shrinkage rate decreased by 16.0 at 7 days and 29.5 at 28 daysy. Shrinkage reducing agent at dosage of 2 reduced the 7-day autogenous shrinkage by 44.3 and 28-day drying shrinkage by 50.2 . Compared with expansive admixture, shrinkage reducing agent exhibits more efficient shrinkage reduction effect on UHPC.
