Comprehensive study on prediction and correlation of elastic modulus of waste rice husk glass ceramics

Abstract: A zinc silicate (ZnO – SiO2) system consisting of (ZnO) x (wrha) 1 was prepared from zinc oxide (ZnO) and white rice husk ash (wrha). The − x (= 0.55, 0.60, 0.65 and 0.70   weight ) is represented by S1, S2, S3 and S4, respectively. Zno-sio2 samples were prepared by melt quenching, and the physical and elastic properties of the samples were studied. The physical properties used in this study are density and molar volume, and the theoretical elastic modulus of the samples is obtained by directly calculating the theoretical model, which is compared with the experimental elastic modulus obtained by ultrasonic pulse echo technology. Test elastic modulus value, including longitudinal modulus (), shear modulus (), Young s modulus), bulk modulus (), and Poisson’s ratio () were compared with theoretical model calculated using Rocherulle’s model. All the configurations of the elastic moduli obtained experimentally match very well with the configuration from Rocherulle’s model but Poisson’s ratio obtained experimentally differs from the values of Poisson’s ratio obtained through Rocherulle’s model.
