Abstract: The interaction between ecological screw bolt and gravel in borehole is evaluated by laboratory pull-out test and numerical analysis. The porosity of the crushed stone around the bolt depends on the size of the ecological screw bolt and affects the axial resistance of the ecological screw bolt. The axial resistance is inversely proportional to the porosity of gravel in the borehole. The porosity is also related to the size of eco screw bolts. The maximum principal stress between bolt and rock is related to the porosity of gravel and the size difference between ecological screw bolt and borehole. At low porosity, experimental and numerical analysis show that the relationship between axial resistance and displacement is similart. However, at high porosity, the numerical results deviated greatly from the experimental observation. The initial agreement is attributed to the state of residual resistance after the maximum axial resistance force, and the latter divergence was due to the decreasing axial resistance force owing to slippage.
