Abstract: Firstly, this paper proposes a new reinforcement structure soil net, which can strengthen the foundation, slope and other structures, and its reinforcement effect is better than that of soil bag. This proposed geotextile structure usually consists of several layers of earth mesh, which is laid in a unique way. A layer of soil net can be described as a collection of spherical soil bags connected together in two directions, one direction is connected by ropes and the other direction is connected by PP woven bags containing soil. The analysis of the mechanical properties of the soil net shows that the yield stress of the soil in the soil net is improved, the tensile capacity of the soil net is greater than that of the filling soil, and the equivalent coefficient isicient of interlayer friction between the connected soil nets is larger than that for soilbags. Applications of this new reinforcement structure in the reinforcement of a foundation and a slope are considered, and the corresponding reinforcement effects are calculated. The calculation results demonstrate that the soil nets concept yields efficient reinforcement structures with many advantages.
