Semi analytical solution and parameter sensitivity analysis of ground settlement caused by shallow shield tunnel

Abstract: The existing analytical solutions generally do not consider the influence of boundary soil properties on land settlement caused by tunnel excavation, and the assumption that the initial stresses in vertical and horizontal directions are equal limits the application of the above solutions. Based on the assumption of uniform half plane, the boundary conditions are defined according to the ground loss mode in shallow buried tunnel, and the non-uniform stress field is separated into uniform and unidirectional stress field by using Mohr Coulomb plastic yield criterion and classical lame and kirsch elastic equation. The semi empirical solution of ground settlement caused by single shallow circular tunnel is proposed, and its sensitivity to ground parameters is analyzed. The method of settlement control is provided influence factors analysis of semiempirical solution. A case study in Beijing Metro tunnel shows that the semiempirical solution agrees well with the in situ measured results.
