Abstract: Deproteinized natural rubber (dpnr) was prepared by mixing sodium hydroxymethylglycine latex (SH latex) and ammonia latex (NH3 latex) with different forms of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). The mixture was stirred at room temperature and the denatured protein was centrifuged. The optimized reaction contains 0.01   weight percent tetrasodium ethylenediamine tetraacetate (edta-4na) and 1 sodium dodecyl sulfate. The nitrogen content of dpnr in SH latex and NH3 latex was reduced to 0.005   weight percentage and 0.008   weight percentage, which were 0.551 and 0.551 respectively
