Abstract: This work deals with the effect of deformation temperature in the following range: − 40 ° C to 200 ° C on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of low-carbon high manganese austenitic steel. The temperature range is selected to cope with the temperature during plate processing or accident events. The test results show that the yield stress and ultimate tensile strength decrease with the increase of tensile test temperature. The main mechanism of strain hardening of steel changes with the change of deformation temperature, which is related to the change of stacking fault energy (SFE). When the deformation temperature increases, the twinning decreases and the effect of dislocation slip increases.
