Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate the rutting and fatigue damage of asphalt containing 2 , 4 , 6 and 8 nano silica (NC), and to find out the correlation between the engineering properties of modified binder and asphalt mixture. In order to study the effect of NC on rutting and fatigue properties of modified adhesive, multiple stress creep recovery (MSCR) and linear amplitude scanning (LAS) tests were carried out. Marshall stability, dynamic creep and four point bending beam fatigue tests were used to evaluate the performance characteristics of the mixture. Both binder and mixture tests show that using NC as modifier can improve fatigue and rutting resistance. In addition, some statistical correlations between engineering properties are establishedcessfully.
