Evaluation of real-time compaction quality detection index of rockfill based on vibration acceleration analysis of roller

Abstract: The compaction quality is directly related to the structure and seepage stability of rockfill dam. In order to detect the compaction quality of rockfill timely and accurately, based on the analysis of the vibration acceleration of the roller, four real-time test indexes of peak acceleration (AP), root mean square acceleration (arms) and peak factor (CF) are selected to characterize the degree of soil compaction and compaction meter value (CMV). In order to determine which of these indicators is the most appropriate, two parts of field compaction tests were carried out with vibratory rollers in different filling areas of the dam. Collect the data of rolling parameters, real-time test indicators and compaction quality indicators, and conduct statistical regression analysis. combinationspectrum analysis of the acceleration signal, it was found that the CF index best characterizes the compaction degree of the rockfill material among the four indexes. Furthermore, the quantitative relations between the real-time index and compaction quality index were established to determine the control criterion of CF, which can instruct the site work of compaction quality control in the rockfill rolling process.
