Abstract: Based on the analysis of the characteristics of Pingdingshan expansive soil, the shear strength parameters of expansive soil under different water content, dry density and dry wet cycle are obtained. The results show that when the soil moisture content is high, the internal friction angle is 0 °, and the shallow layer of expansive soil slope will collapse; This is independent of the height of the slope and the size of the slope. The soil parameters affected by the atmosphere are the soil parameters after dry and wet cycle, and the soil parameters without atmospheric influence are the same as the natural soil parameters. In slope stability analysis, the shear strength parameters of soil can be determined by finite element method, and the stability coefficient of slope can be determined by finite element methodansive soil slope can be calculated.
