Abstract: The scattering of left circularly polarized waves by an ideal conducting rough surface in an isotropic chiral medium is studied. Since the interface is assumed to be slightly rough, the perturbation method is used to solve it. The zero order term corresponds to the solution of the plane interface, which is helpful to compare with the results reported in the literature. The first-order term gives the contribution of surface disturbance and is used to define the incoherent bistatic scattering coefficient of Gaussian rough surface. The higher-order solution is obtained recursively. Numerical results are reported for different values of chirality, correlation length and surface root mean square height. The diffraction efficiency of sinusoidal grating is defined.
