Abstract: The damage process of quasi brittle materials is accompanied by acoustic emission. In the process of material damage evolution, the microcrack length satisfies the fractal distribution. Studying the relationship between them theoretically is helpful to reveal the law of material damage evolution and acoustic emission activity. Firstly, based on the characteristics of damage and fractal, the expression of damage variable is proposed. Then, by deriving the relationship between AE parameters, load cycle and fractal dimension, an AE statistical model considering damage and fractal characteristics is established. Finally, the effects of damage and fractal effects on acoustic emission parameters are analyzed. The results show that the damage accelerates the acoustic emission behaviorvity to the rougher material, the opposite to the more homogeneous material. It can also be seen that the increase of the fractal dimension, the homogeneity constant , will substantially increase the AE activities.
