Field test of square foundation on geobelt reinforced gravel thin cushion on soft soil foundation

Abstract: A series of field static load tests of square foundation were carried out on geobelt reinforced sand gravel cushion on soft soil foundation. The reinforced gravel cushion is thin, and the depth width ratio is 0.2. The parameters are studied by considering the number of layers of geotechnical belt, the depth of the first layer of geotechnical belt under the foundation, the vertical spacing between the two layers of geotechnical belt, the linear density of reinforcement and the material type of geotechnical belt. The pressure distribution at the bottom of the cushion was measured. The test results show that the bearing capacity of reinforced gravel cushion is significantly greater than that of unreinforced gravel cushion, and the stress diffusion effect of reinforced gravel cushion is also significantly greater than that of unreinforced gravel cushion.he pressure distribution on bottom of reinforced gravel cushion was in a saddle shape. According to calculation and analysis, the stress diffusion angles of reinforced cushions were all larger than 20°.
