Dielectric properties of TiO2 / silicone rubber micro nano composites

Abstract: In this paper, RTV silicone rubber Sr TiO2 nanocomposites and their microstructure were studied, and their dielectric and electrical properties were studied. We show that the surfactant Triton X-100 greatly improves the dispersion of micron and nano particles on the surface, so as to produce more uniform composites with improved dielectric properties. SEM analysis also confirmed that the presence of surfactant enhanced the dispersion. We also discussed the effects of filler concentration and particle size on the surface dielectric behavior of nanocomposites and micro composites in the frequency range of 40 Hz to 2 MHz. The dielectric properties were improved by introducing 5 and 10 TiO nano- and microparticles. Furthermore, there is an improvement in the permittivity values for the microcomposites compared to the nanocomposites for all frequencies. This finding is of great importance for high-voltage electrical insulation.
