Abstract: The enclosures of medinas are defensive structures and important constituents of this heritage. They are characterized by their architecture, their history and their sociocultural integration into the community. Unfortunately, walls of these medinas remain subject to several degradations that threaten their existence to the benefit of urbanization. Consequently, they require a major effort to preserve it and extend its life time. Salé medina is surrounded by walls on its four façades. They were the object of several interventions, in the past, carried out by public, semi-public and private bodies. They suffer from several pathologies which are due to several factors, climatic, time and anthropic. The aim of this work is the diagnosis of these walls, and the evaluation of their conservation state using multi-criteria analysis as a decision-making aid. The method of the Analytical Hierarchy Process –AHP- was followed in order to take into account the degradation factors and the calculation of their weights. The Technique of Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution –TOPSIS- was used to determine the relative importance weights of the alternatives. The result of this study is a ranking of these walls according to their final weights. Consequently, it can contribute to a better management of this heritage.
