Abstract: Abagusii like other ethnic groups in Kenya, had specialists having knowledge and skills on botanical plants indigenous plants significant for medicine. The paper focuses on some of the indigenous plants used as drugs curing diseases among the Abagusii. This include omonyasese, omonyangateti, ekenagwa ekiegarori, omonyamabi, omonyankene, omotembe, omonyagesagane, enguranguria, omotiokia, omonyabogundo, omonyasore, omobono, omosabakwa, omonyakerundu, ebiribiri, omoroka, omonyansuri, omogaka,omokene. The problem is botanical or indigenous plants are becoming extinct due to clearance of bushes for settlement and land fragmentation. The objective is study the best strategy for conservation and management of indigenous plants for curing diseases and sustainable human life. The paper applied in-depth interview to solicit information from the surviving old men and women who had the expertise or technique of using indigenous plants. The key results reveal that the indigenous plants have medicinal value and were used as drugs in curing diseases like malaria, typhoid, headaches, backaches, family planning and so on. It is concluded that the indigenous plants healed cured diseases and it is important to conserve them and preserve the indigenous knowledge and skills among the Abagusii. It is recommended the indigenous plants to be conserved through community groups, churches and other non-governmental organizations for using in curing diseases, because it had no side effects on its use and application.
