Abstract: Microorganisms can produce commercially important biopolymers. Bacterial strain, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which was usually isolated from the soil, can produce biopolymer such as polyhydroxyalkanoates by utilising various carbon sources. The production of biopolymer PHA was directly proportional to the incubation period. PHA synthesized was analyzed by FTIR spectroscopy. Medium containing glucose, fructose, etc. can be used as a carbon source. The biopolymer synthesised has increased stabilising as well as rheological properties.
