Abstract: Presently, dispatch control successfully applies the supply of train traffic to technical stations, regulating the order of passing transit trains and trains to be checked and made up. This procedure is also used for the jogging sections, regulating the supply of trains to the banking locomotives stations. For instance, as a result of technical means failure, it is difficult to return the banking locomotives. In this case, it is advisable to pass light trains that do not require pushing. The boundaries of operational planning are limited for several reasons: the probability of technical means failure increases with every stage, so that at large distances it is more complicated to predict the train arrival time with a high precision; moreover, when the planning boundaries increases, the load on the dispatch personnel increases as well. It leads to reduced planning accuracy and the deterioration in other duties performance. Determining the optimal operational boundaries is a key element in the dispatch personnel job.
