Synthesis, Growth and Characterization of an Organic Material: P-Chloroanilinium Ethanoate

Abstract: P-chlorophenylamine acetate (CAE) aromatic organic compounds were synthesized by condensation with methanol as solvent. The synthesized product was slowly evaporated at room temperature and grew to a size of 25 × twenty-nine × 10 mm3 crystal. The grown material was subjected to single crystal X-ray diffraction to obtain cell parameters. The existence of functional groups in the growth materials was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and Fourier transform Raman spectroscopy. The UV-Vis absorption spectrum shows that the material has a low UV cut-off wavelength at 337 nm. The NLO activity was confirmed by Kurtz Perry powder method. The mechanical strength of the crystal is estimated by Vickers microhardness test. The results show that the material belongs to thermoplastic material soft category. Thethermal behavior of the material was investigated by using thermo gravimetricand differential scanning calorimetric analyses.
